Strolling around Stockholm

My family and I had an opportunity to visit Stockholm last summer (I know, such a late post, but still a worthy mention in this blog). None of us had ever been anywhere in Scandinavia so it was exciting for all of us to see Stockholm. When we arrived at Arlanda, we were shocked at how cold it was. I knew that it was not going to be as hot as the rest of Europe but nevertheless, we were not expecting it to be 50 degrees. Weather notwithstanding, we had an excellent time in the land of the midnight sun. The architecture, friendly locals, and the food (butter, venison, chocolate, seafood,  I could go on) made our trip a memorable one. The city was so clean and orderly, especially their metro system. I also think they have the best tasting tap water in all of Europe (and I am very particular with my water).

We were also very lucky to see the Palace after the royal wedding. The chapel and exterior of the palace were still decorated with thousands of flowers. You could still feel the excitement of the wedding in the air.

Hams!

I so wished that we had more time in Stockholm. We walked around Norrmalm, parts of Ostermalm, and most of Gamla Stan. However, there were still so many other places that we didn’t get to see. We had such a magical, unique time here and we will definitely go back.
