Whenever I plan an overseas trip, I always ask myself “Do I have time for Paris?”. The answer is simple. It’s always a resounding “yes”! I can never get tired of Paris. It doesn’t matter how many times I’ve been there. I always find new things to do and see. The city is so vast that one week is not enough. There is always something interesting that I discover in each arrondisement. Of course, the old familiars never disappoint. It may be cliche to most, but for me, the Eiffel Tower is always a sight to behold. So are the Louvre, Montmartre, and Notre Dame. Meandering around the Marais and getting lost in the Left Bank were just as swell. Paris is the best place to flaneur around. You’d stumble upon places that will bewitch your eyes, wallet, and appetite. One minute you want to see the inside of St. Sulpice, the next you want to eat everything at Patrick Roger (chocolatier). Or finding Pierre Herme (best macarons ever) just around the corner. I could go on.
I had the opportunity to visit Paris again last June. This time, I went with my parents and two cousins. It was my cousins’ first time so I played the tour guide. It was sweltering in Paris and people were definitely enjoying the bright, sunny weather.
Our first stop was Montmartre.

We ate lunch at this super cute place called Chez Marie at the bottom of the Rue du Calvaire. It’s vivid red restaurant front can’t be missed.

There were also those quiet gems that I noticed while walking around. Empty streets, flying buttresses of a local church, or a beautiful door always deserve a snap.

I am so blessed to have the opportunity to visit this magnificent city again. It’s beautiful, complex, and leaves me wanting for more. Can’t wait to go back!
