Perfect day in San Francisco

I asked a few of my friends how they would spend a perfect, sunny day in San Francisco and here are their answers:

Home of the 2010 World Series Champion San Francisco Giants, AT&T Park

Jayne-Louise Webb prefers : ” One of my favorite things to do when it’s sunny out in SF is to drive my car, with my bike, and park it near AT&T park, then take a bike ride to Waterbar (along the Embarcadero) and enjoy some $1 oysters (available everyday until 6pm), then ride my bike back past AT&T park and stop at the bar there (can’t remember the name) for a beer before calling it a day”

China Beach

Darl Armesto likes to do this : “Find a nice, local, not too crowded beach, bring a good book and wait til sunset”.

San Francisco Academy of Science

My cousin, John Dalmacio ever so succintly tells me : “Mess with my little brother or visit museums.”

Coit Tower – North Beach

My sister, Danille Dones loves doing this: “A perfect sunny day in San Francisco rarely comes and still even more uncommon for it to last… getting a pedicure and then heading out for ice cream or frozen yogurt is a great way to enjoy a perfect sunny day in San Francisco. Going to Gelato Classico in North Beach where I get their chocolate sundae with spumoni and Bavarian mint always brightens my day.”

Iyara Giminski loves to : “Boring but blissful: work out in the morning, then sit outside and have coffee and a bagel sandwich and feel lucky.”

Interior of the Ferry Building

Dianna Teves says : “I love sunny SF days! Especially when it’s hot! 🙂 Perfect day for me: Shop, eat and sit outside. Pizzeria Delfina  then Bi-Rite Creamery for some salted caramel ice cream! Then again I do that even on cold and rainy days! Spending the day at the Ferry Building Farmers Market on a Saturday is something I love to do as well. Enjoying the great food! I would love to take a drive to Napa or Sausalito, too. So much to do! I love it here!”

Land’s End

As for me, I like to either spend the day walking/lounging around Golden Gate Park (Music Concourse, Arboretum, Japanese Tea Garden and the museums), then drive across town and enjoy some ice cream from either Birite or Mr. & Mrs. Miscellaneous. Or head on over to Land’s End for a quick hike. Watch the sunset and the crashing waves and to quote Elizabeth Bennett “to admire the general splendor”. Days like this are rare to come by and I take extra effort to be more grateful that I get to enjoy this with the people I love.
